Accessibility Statement
Our commitment
Colony ("we") provides Colony, a web-based CRM. We want Colony to be usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities, and we are working to improve it.
The standard this service follows
Colony was designed to meet Israeli Standard IS 5568 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) at level AA, which is based on the international WCAG 2.0 guidelines published by the W3C. Colony has not yet had an independent accessibility audit, so we do not claim that it conforms.
What exists today
- A "Skip to main content" link is the first Tab stop in the signed-in application, and the main content area is marked as a landmark.
- The interface can be used in light or dark mode, or can follow your device setting. The choice is in the account menu.
- The page language is declared in the page markup.
- Status messages and notifications are announced to screen readers through live regions.
- The global search (command palette) and its results are exposed as a dialog, and Escape closes it.
- Many navigation, menu and form controls carry labels and ARIA attributes for screen readers.
- The layout adapts to different screen sizes.
- Some styles respect the "reduce motion" setting of your device.
- Every page has a main heading, and the public pages (sign in, booking, signing, forms) have their own "Skip to main content" link.
- Form errors are announced and tied to the field they belong to, and form fields have labels.
- Icon-only buttons have accessible names, and messages that used to be browser pop-ups are shown as announced notices instead.
- A warning is shown before your sign-in session expires, so you can extend it.
- Cards on the leads, tickets and dispatch boards can be moved with a menu, and meetings can be rescheduled with a form, so dragging is not required.
- Charts are given a text description for screen readers.
An accessibility button on every page offers larger text, high contrast, link highlighting, a readable font and paused animations. Your choices stay on your device. It is a convenience and does not make a page accessible by itself.
Known limitations
- The interface is in English only. Some public pages (booking, contact and join pages) can be shown in Hebrew with right-to-left layout when a company switches Hebrew on. Arabic and other right-to-left languages are not supported yet.
- Not every page has been tested with a screen reader or with the keyboard alone. Some pages were built before we began this work.
- The keyboard alternatives to dragging and the text descriptions of charts were added recently and have not been tested with every screen reader.
- Some dialogs come from third-party components (for example Bootstrap, FullCalendar, DataTables, Quill). Focus handling and labelling in them has not been verified in every case.
- Some confirmation prompts are still the browser's own pop-up boxes.
- Colour contrast has not been formally measured across the whole product, in either theme.
- Documents, emails and PDFs that businesses create or upload in Colony may not be accessible. That content is the responsibility of the business that created it.
If a limitation stops you from doing something, contact us and we will help you do it another way or send the information in another format.
Notice for users in Israel
We are working towards the requirements of the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law and its service accessibility regulations, using IS 5568 level AA as our target. We do not claim full conformance. Accessibility arrangements for a particular business's own public pages are the responsibility of that business.
Other regions
Colony is used in several countries. We do not claim compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the European Accessibility Act, the UK Equality Act 2010 or other regional rules. Our work to date is aimed at the standard named above.
